Musica Viva Manawatu, in association with the Palmerston North Rotary Club, has since 1985 run an annual competition for young people in which the best of Manawatu's young concert pianists, instrumentalists and singers compete for Young Performers Scholarships. It has been a foundation for the music careers of a number of national and international concert performers.
The Sunday Matinee October 19th concert will be a showcase of the 2025 finalists, demonstrating the depth of talent there is in the local music community.
